The Blueair 680i is the most capable air purifier in the Classic range and has been designed for rooms with a capacity of up to 72 m². As you’d expect, the technology that makes the rest of the range so capable and efficient is also here in the 680i. However, features like the whisper-quiet operation and top-level Clean Air Distribution Rate (CADR) are still stand out features despite its size and capabilities. It is also worth noting that like all the other Blueair models, the Classic 680i doesn’t create any artificial ozone within your room. So there is no associated risk in using the machine for long periods of time.

Top Air Quality

The main advantage of choosing the Blueair Classic 680i over the 605 is the integrated air quality sensors. These sensors track changes in air quality from the surrounding environment and display the relevant data on the unit’s display. Additionally, through the Blueair Friend app, it’s possible to receive a direct data feed to your preferred smart device.

You can also get a live reading of the air quality in the room, and providing you and the device are connected to Wi-Fi, you can then set the machine to operate at a chosen speed setting. This feature can be coupled with the timer function, which allows the unit can turn off after completing a certain amount of purification cycles and raising the quality of the air back to your desired level. One more advanced feature of the Blueair Classic 680i is it will monitor and report back information on the quality of the air outside your home, allowing you to set your unit to activate at times where pollutants peak above a certain level.

Quiet Giant

Despite the Blueair 680i being able to filter the air in rooms as large as 72 m² in size, it is still able to operate at a whisper-quiet level of only 32 dB when at its lowest speed setting. Once again this makes it ideal for quieter and calmer spaces such as studies or conservatories in your home as well as the bedroom. As well as being very quiet in operation, the lowest speed setting is also coupled with an extremely low power consumption figure of just 15 Watts. 

Powerful and Capable

On top of its technical features, the Blueair 680i has a galvanized steel body construction that is supported by strong ABS plastics to make up its outer shell. The powerful 680i unit is capable of pulling through and filtering the air on the room once every 12 minutes, meaning that it will have been filtered 5 times in an hour. There is also Wi-Fi integration so that you can remotely operate the device from either outside the room or outside the building from another location. This feature is perfect for setting the device on a low power setting as you leave another location before travelling home, ensuring the air is freshly filtered when you arrive.

Simple to Use

As previously mentioned, the Blueair 680i comes with Wi-Fi integration and a solid set of remote features. However, there is also a more traditional method of input and selection available in the form of a digital touch panel that is neatly hidden on the top of the unit. This panel is also accompanied by the filter life and VOC level indicators, the latter of which gives you a live indication of the current quality of the air flowing through the unit.

Efficient Filters

The HEPASilent filters are rated for approximately 6 months depending on the quality of the air you are filtering. If you live in an area where there are particularly high pollution levels, then filters may need replacing more regularly. However, the Blueair 680i comes with a handy indicator/alert both on the unit and through the smart app, to tell you exactly when the filter needs changing. This will also help you to gauge how long a filter cycle will last in your setting.

With its larger size, the 680i is also designed for maximum performance whilst maintaining a high level of efficiency. At its very highest setting, the unit only uses 100 Watts of power and at the other end, its lowest setting uses as little as 15 Watts.
